Saffiyah “Saffy" Johnson, MBA, LCSW
Saffiyah “Saffy" Johnson is a licensed clinical social worker for the state of Florida and has worked in social work for the last ten years. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with her bachelor’s of psychology in 2007, gained her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Central Florida in 2012, and received her Master’s in Business Administration in 2020 from the University of Florida.
Saffy started her social work career working with children interning with the Families in Transitioning program in Seminole County (which was featured on 60 Minutes) and worked with substance-abusing teenagers in a 24-hour double lockdown detox facility. For the last eight years, Saffy has worked in the managed care arena. She has created and developed national programs for behavioral health for Centene, and managed facilities across the state of Florida in regard to care metrics for New Directions Behavioral Health (Florida Blue). Currently, Saffy works for Blue Shield of California as a Shield Emerging Leader. In this role, she is in a two-year leadership rotational program working with different business leaders in the organization. During her time in this program, she has competed in a company-wide innovation competition with a team and their project is being initiated. Her last rotation focuses on business strategy for the Medicare population.
Saffy has been on numerous leadership boards such as Chair of the Orange County Children's Cabinet (2017-2019), NASW-FL Central Unit chair (2018-2019), and hospitality chair for the NASW-FL state conference in 2017 and 2019.
For fun, she loves exploring Northern California, baking, and spending time with her loved ones.
Destiny Davis, MSW/MBA
Destiny Davis is an innovator, strategist, and optimizer. Born and raised in Dallas, TX, she has made it a primary goal to have the ability to impact lives in the most effective way.
Destiny received her Bachelors in Social Work from Stephen F. Austin State University where she focused on child and youth development. After pursuing her Bachelors in Social Work, she briefly worked at a local non-profit called Promise House in Dallas, TX as a lead case manager for a rapid re-housing program, where she case-managed youth ages 18-24; ultimately helping them holistically and providing independent living services and rental assistance.
In 2020, Destiny obtained a joint Master’s degree at Washington University in St. Louis, where she received a Master’s in Social Work at the Brown School of Social Work and Public Health and a Master’s in Business Administration at the Olin School of Business. Within her pursuits in St. Louis Destiny worked with many St. Louis-based non-profit organizations such as Unleashing Potential of St. Louis, Big Brother, Big Sister of Greater St. Louis, STL Youth Jobs, and the Dream Center of St. Louis. She is a graduate of Clark-Fox Policy Institute as a policy scholar, a Forte Women’s Fellow, a Consortium Graduate Fellow Member, and a member of the National Black MBA Association in St. Louis. Destiny also served as a board member for Call for Help Inc. based in East St. Louis in 2019-2021. As she continued to pursue her work, Destiny worked with the Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Lab at Washington University, where she provided social impact consulting to nonprofits in St. Louis on sustainability, impact measures, and long-term brand effectiveness.
Currently, Destiny works at the intersection of social work and business through corporate social responsibility as a consultant. Based in Chicago, IL she assists corporations and governments in building effective strategies for their philanthropic portfolios and works to measure the impact of their giving. She has worked with companies such as Google.org, Mastercard's Center for Inclusive Growth, and Booz Allen Hamilton. She has a heart for providing external social impact consulting and capacity building to help organizations to tell their impact story.
